The reveal that he’s blind was so well done. It recontextualizes everything in such a satisfying way, especially tied to the “lack of vision” line.

I already knew I was going to enjoy it and I ended up getting completely hooked.

One of the strongest elements is the atmosphere. I love the level of detail Perkins put into the setting. It feels very immersive and intentional.
Right from the opening, the critique of Whitaker’s work pulled me in immediately. It establishes such a confident narrative voice and sets up a really compelling thematic tension between technical mastery and emotional depth that already feels central to the story.
[Genevieve and Adam]'s dynamic already feels layered and natural in a way that’s hard to pull off this early.
Whitaker as a character is already a standout (and so far, I can tell he’s going to be an absolute favorite fictional character of mine). There’s something so controlled and slightly unsettling about him, but also really engaging and I was smirking and chuckling (out loud) at some of his interactions with Genevieve.
